1. The World Series of Barbecue®, Oct 2-5
Location: American Royal Complex
Nothing says “Kansas City” like some good barbecue, and this year’s World Series of Barbecue is sure to be a stellar one. With more than 550 competing teams and over 70,000 people expected to turn out, this is a food fest that you won’t want to miss.

2. Kansas City Zoo Hoots & Howls, Oct 4-5
Location: Kansas City Zoo
Our city’s zoo has a great day planned for this year’s Hoots and Howls. Entertainment and activities are available throughout the park for the whole family to enjoy, like a hay bale maze and a Monster Mash Bash.

3. Brick or Treat, every weekend in October.
Location: LEGOLAND® Discovery Center, Kansas City
Throughout the month, LEGO lovers will unite for some ghoulish fun every weekend. Activities like costume contests, scavenger hunts, and more will be great for the little ones!

4. Davey Jones Bones, Oct 25-26, 31 thru Nov 2
Location: Sea Life Aquarium
Hear spooky tales of the deep from pirates who experienced it first-hand at our local aquarium! Sensory activities for the little ones are also involved, as they can feel the weird things found at the bottom of the ocean.
